Guy Blackburn Hamilton: A Portrait of Deception

Guy Blackburn Hamilton: A Portrait of Deception

The Troubled Path of a Notorious Conman

Guy Alexander Blackburn-Hamilton’s story is woven from the threads of deception and persistent scandal. Though born in Ireland and holding Irish citizenship, his life has been shaped not by honest achievement, but by a relentless pattern of fraud, false identity, and broken trust.

From the outset, Guy sought opportunity not through merit, but manipulation. After spending most of his life in the UK—with a brief stint in St. Lucia during the mid-1980s—he quickly became acquainted with the law, facing arrest for cocaine possession in St. Lucia and serving time for fraud in the UK.

His personal life has been just as tumultuous, marked by three marriages. His first two wives are deceased, while his last wife, Katrina Bullock, remains in the UK after Guy absconded to Spain, taking up with a new partner, Magdalena Tello.

Financially, Guy stands as a cautionary tale: he has been an undischarged bankrupt in the UK since 2004. The courts have refused to discharge him, leaving him mired in insolvency for over two decades.

But it is Guy’s compulsive lying and elaborate fabrications that truly define him. Among his most outlandish claims:

He boasted of being an agent for MI6—this was thoroughly investigated and found to be without any truth.

He alleged a familial connection to Guy Hamilton, the famed James Bond director. In reality, no such relationship exists, as confirmed by Hamilton’s only living relative.

He claimed ties to the Murphy family and Freddie Linnett of Ireland, a connection emphatically denied by both parties.

He asserted that he was related to the Guinness family, a claim refuted by the family themselves.

He professed to have been educated alongside several members of the Saudi royal family, and to have worked as a media crisis manager for the Saudi Royal Court—both statements proved entirely false after direct inquiries with the Saudi Ambassador to the UK and the Royal Court in Riyadh.

He even claimed UK security clearance and a personal relationship with Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, insisting he played PlayStation with the prince and had a mandate to purchase London properties worth £100 million. These tales, too, were categorically disproved.

Guy’s penchant for drama extended to his personal safety, frequently insisting he needed luxury vehicles and bodyguards due to supposed threats related to his alleged “sensitive” work. In reality, he conned security companies out of more than £500,000, with no genuine threat against him ever substantiated.

Facing a criminal investigation in the UK, Guy fled to Spain, having previously held a job in a Hastings pub. His history is further marred by allegations of involvement in the infamous Elm Guesthouse scandal.

Guy’s lifestyle was one of excess and deceit. Whenever he came into money, he would squander it on escorts and lavish hotels, fabricating business meetings at embassies to cover his tracks. This pattern repeated itself over 200 times, leaving a trail of dishonesty and heartbreak.

His professional ventures were equally dubious. When he proposed “Project Iceberg” and its costings to the UAE, the proposal was dismissed as absurd and never progressed.

Addiction and compulsion shadow his every move—Guy is a recovering alcoholic, drug abuser, and gambler, yet his greatest vice remains his unyielding drive to con and manipulate.

Guy Blackburn Hamilton’s legacy is not one of accomplishment, but of falsehood, betrayal, and evasion—a true conman, whose every promise unravels under the faintest scrutiny.

Guy is known to spend time in coffee shops or cafes, where he listens to the conversations around him. When he feels he has gathered enough information, he may initiate a discussion by referencing mutual acquaintances or shared experiences, thereby establishing a connection with others. He often shares stories about his past and claims to be owed substantial sums of money from various governments, as well as from a Guinness family trust. These statements sometimes result in individuals offering him loans, which are reportedly not repaid. He also spends time in the lobbies of five-star hotels, engaging in similar interactions when not accompanied by escorts.

The locations where Guy is most frequently observed include coffee shops in Knightsbridge, London, and venues in and around Seville, Spain.

The following hotels have been identified as places he frequents:

London

Bulgari Hotel

Jumeirah Carlton Towers

Shangri-La The Shard

Sea Containers

Four Seasons Mayfair

The Mandarin Oriental

Marbella Club

Four Seasons Madrid

Ex-EFCC Boss Bawa Reveals N3.7 Billion Petrol Subsidy Fraud

Former EFCC chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, has shared shocking details of how Oluwaseun Ogunbambo, a businessman, defrauded the Nigerian government of N3.7 billion through petrol subsidy fraud. In his book titled The Shadow of Loot & Losses: Uncovering Nigeria’s Petroleum Subsidy Fraud, Bawa explained how Ogunbambo used fake documents to collect money meant for importing fuel. According to Bawa, Ogunbambo claimed he imported petrol, but the fuel never existed. He forged shipping documents and presented them to the government to receive payments. Ogunbambo, who was the managing director of Fargo Petroleum and Gas Ltd, was declared wanted by the EFCC in 2013. He was charged with collecting N976.6 million fraudulently. While the case was still in court, he jumped bail and fled the country. Bawa said Ogunbambo had multiple identities and was also wanted in other countries like Ireland, the UK, and the USA. The book also talks about how fuel subsidy fraud has been a major problem in...
